Adelaide Club Thirty is so named because at any one time we have a maximum of 30 members.
Our meetings are held at a variety of venues during the year where we blind taste five different beers over lunch. These are assessed for key attributes such as appearance, aroma, body, flavour and overall drinkability.
After each tasting members and guests are invited to rate the beers out of a maximum 10 points.
Our members
You don’t have to be a beer expert to become a member of Adelaide Club Thirty.
Our members have varying levels of expertise ranging from those with limited knowledge who want to learn more to some skilled beer judges and home brewers.
Members can invite guests to our tastings and they may subsequently apply for membership.
Long-term support
Adelaide’s largest brewer, Coopers, is a long-term supporter of Adelaide Club Thirty.
Every year Coopers hosts a meeting so we can sample their beers and tour the brewery. They have a history of active involvement through personal memberships and committee work. Former Coopers managing director, the late Bill Cooper, and the company’s Operations Manager, Nick Sterenberg, are among our past presidents.
